Liviu lvanescu received his BSc degree in physics/optics from the Bucharest University in 1993. Then he worked at SIAT Bucharest, a research institute for automation, until 1995. Afterwards he pursued graduate studies in optical instrumentation and was granted a testing engineer position at ESO, Germany. In 2006, he went to SAAO in South Africa to analyze the quality of the atmosphere at potential sites for building the Caltech-TMT telescope. This was followed by similar studies for the Canadian Arctic. He joins the MuSAE Lab as a research technician, having previously assumed this post at the Optical Zeitgeist Laboratory (INRS-EMT).
